- Could someone with the knowledge please give me a technical explanation on the
- loading problems with the internal DF0: drive shipped with the A1200 from Amiga
- Technologies (the Amiga Magic bundle). From what I've heard, it's a Panasonic
- High Density drive that has been modified (jumpered) to read/write DD-disks
- only. A lot of my old trackloading demos/games that would load on my A500 (with
- Chinon DF0: ) without trouble, now refuses to load on my new Amiga Tech
- A1200HD. I think this has something to do with the bootloader code accessing
- the disk hardware directly, bypassing the trackdisk.device for copy protection
- or similar.
-
- So if anyone could describe for me the hardware difference (which I assume is
- the reason for the loading trouble) between the Chinon drive used in my A500
- and the Panasonic one in my A1200, I would appreciate it a lot.
-
- Also, I wonder if the problem could be solved simply by replacing the Panasonic
- drive with some other drive ?
